Pediatric Nephrology evaluates and treats children from infancy to adolescence with the full spectrum of kidney disorders:

Pediatric Nephrologists primarily see patients at the Pediatric Speciality
Center, 2nd Floor, Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital (Map and Directions). Our kidney hemodialysis patients are cared for at DaVita Healthcare Center and our peritoneal dialysis patients are seen at the Chronic Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) unit on Sherman Avenue.
Pediatric Nephrology's research focuses on cellular and molecular mechanisms of recovery from acute renal failure; mechanisms which induce tolerance to injury in the developing kidney; the role of hypoxia induced pathway in both mature and developing nephrons; the natural history of childhood nephrotic syndrome; nephrotic syndrome; and, childhood glomerular disorders.
Pediatric Nephrology also teaches medical students
and residents, and trains fellows in Pediatric Nephrology.
